
Good Companion Awards
The Good Companion Awards (GCA) set by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) can be undertaken in a group class or on a one to one basis. The awards are open to all pet dogs of all ages!
Designed to be non-competitive, fun, and focus on teamwork between guardians and their dogs. Over the course of 6 weeks, the partnership works to reach set criteria at each level encompassing life skills and fun tricks, as well as ensuring guardians have an understanding and knowledge of welfare, well-being, and the true meaning of companionship.
Starting at puppy, or foundation, work your way up four levels to advanced!

Initial Consultations last up to 2 hours and aims to help you understand why the behaviour is happening, establish a training plan to meet both yours and your dog's needs, as well as giving you the tools and skills to start you off on your training journey.

Follow up sessions last an hour as we put the training plan into practice and strengthen your partnership. Some cases may only need the initial consultation, others, a couple of follow up sessions, and for a few, on going training may be required.
£40 + cost of secure field hire or hall if necessary

Puppy Preschool

Puppy Preschool is specifically for puppies under 14 weeks of age, and in between vaccinations. This 2 week course focuses on appropriate socialisation and early learning in a safe environment to harness the critical developmental periods puppies go through at this young age. Each class is 30 - 45 minutes long, with a maximum of 5 puppies per course and is held in a purpose built puppy classroom at Pure Connection Pets pet shop on Tenterden high street.

Puppy Preschool has been veterinary approved and has strict health and safety protocols in order to keep all our puppies as safe as possible. Please note, this course is not a substitute for puppy courses and care givers are encourage to sign up for further training.
Puppy Classes

Puppy classes are an invaluable experience for both you, and your puppy. During their critical learning periods, we want to set your pup up to be a confident, and well mannered member of society. For puppies 6 months and under.

Whether that's loose lead walking, recall, settling or taking your training out and about, these hour long sessions are there to provide you with extra support, tools and knowledge to set your puppy up for success!

Troublesome Teens Package

Our Troublesome Teens Package aims to help you and your teenager navigate this tricky time by re-establishing your relationship and encouraging them to make the right choices. This package includes the Good Companion Foundation or Improver award and 3 additional one to one lessons focusing on recall, engagement, loose lead walking, meeting needs and providing an insight into the physical, neurological and chemical changes that are taking place.
This package includes weekly resources, training plans, phone and email support throughout the duration and up to 2 months post training. Plus, a £15 saving on one to one training. £200 for participation in group classes. £280 for one to one training.
An initial assessment will be made to assess your dogs' suitability for group classes.
Loose Lead Walking & Recall

Loose lead walking and Recall are the two main areas many pet parents struggle with. It can cause a lot of conflict an frustration at both ends of the lead. In these hour long lessons, you and your dog will learn how to master these two very important skills! Chose between working on both skills, or focusing on one.
£40 (+field hire if necessary)
Preparation Consultations

Preparation consultations are to provide you with advice and guidance on how to prepare your resident pets for new additions to the family. Whether you are bringing home a new puppy or kitten, rescue dog or cat, expecting a baby, or moving house. Often, in these circumstances, our resident pets get forgotten about, but they can be difficult periods for them to navigate.
These consultations are also suitable for those wanting to be fully prepared for bringing home their first puppy.
Sessions lasts 1 hour and can be done online.
